Good GI Doctors in Washington/DC Area/Baltimore? Area ??

Anybody know of any good doctors in this area who would be willing to work with me with diet and stuff. My current GI is not cutting it.

EMPHASIS ON open mindedness to different approaches.

Anyone live around there know any?

When I lived in D.C. I saw Allen Ginsberg with GWU Medical Faculty Associates. He did studies on new meds, really stuck his neck out for me with FDA. I benefited from that, but he led me rather than me leading him. He was all about the medicine though, not a lot of diet advice as I recall. But a really smart guy.

Allen Ginsburg, think I've heard of him of before. I'm glad he was a help to you but unfortunately doesn't sound like a good fit for me though, thanks for the info.

You would probably benefit from consulting a naturopathic doctor, one that has a record of working with digestive disorders. I found a great one where I live now, very helpful advice on diet and supplements. I learned about mine from my cat's homeopathic vet...but you can probably find info online.

I have heard good things about Ginsberg as well, but only from other docs.

Mine is Digestive Disorders Associates in Annapolis-Dr. Michael Epstein. But definitely he sounds like he wouldn't be a good fit. He doesn't think diet has any impact on the disease.

Before him, I had a doc with AAGA in Annapolis and they were just as bad. Worse actually, when you factor in their horrible bedside manner.

My acupuncturist's daughter also has UC and has gone to a lot of docs too-I will ask her who her daughter sees now. I know her daughter has been seeing a naturopath recently and has had GREAT success going gluten free.

I don't know where you are located, but I will try and get some additional info the next time I go for acupuncture.

Will do-I need to make an appt to see her next week, so I will be sure to ask her about this for you. I know her daughter has gone through a number of docs because they just weren't listening to her needs. Blinders on no doubt!

I will do that-and I am going to go call her now so I can set up an appointment! (I usually see her on Wednesdays because that is the day my mom can watch my kids)
