FODMAPS. Finally Help achieved with diet. PART I

I would also really like the diet. At the moment my combination eating has been working great. No blood or mucus, no pain more energy, but I would love to hear about this one too. I belive UC is somewhat dietary. Doctors don't beleive this, but I don't care what they beleive.

I'm OK with meats, only fresh meats like beef, pork, lamb and chicken.  I am no good with processed meats that have addvitives like (220) herbs and spices etc.  I sometime have problems eating bacon.  Hope this help you somewhat.

Did anyone lose weight on this diet? I know when I tried the SCD diet I was losing a lot of weight without trying so I had to be careful. I definitely want to give this diet a try since I am running out of options. I cannot take a lot of the drugs.
I was going to ask someone to email me it but when I checked the post it seemed like it was all there. If not could someone let me know.
I take it you can eat meat, eggs without problems. One thing I found interesting is you can not use honey which is what is used on the SCD diet. I was surprised that maple syrup was a substitution.

Thanks, but I am a little confused. If legumes are no good, then how come peanut butter is okay. And does that mean soymilk is ok?

Hi could I please be sent the FODMAP diet? And does anyone know of a fodmap recipe book or any good recipes? I'm vegan (was vegetarian but eggs and dairy make me feel sick.. suspect dairy intolerance.. more below) so cutting out all those foods don't give me too many options left. Help please! Am wondering whether I should go to a naturopath or a dietician.

about three years ago I went overseas and was in a very stressful situation for the first week of my holiday, and suddenly could not eat or drink a thing. (Of course I still did). Even water hurt my stomach! I was in pain for at least a week straight. When I moved into a less stressful environment the following week I noticed not everything was so bad (I could now drink water without it hurting).
Prior to this event I was extremely stressed and in a deep depression for over a year. I was sick all the time and I would get skin problems like boils due to the stress. So obviously all this stress somehow caused my digestive problems.
I went to doctors and gastro specialists.. had multiple blood tests done, stool tests etc. Went on LOSEC as they thought the stress had loosened and weakened the muscle at the top of my stomach, causing acid to go up my oseophagus, but it didn't do help.
My problems have definitely calmed down, and more identifiable than just PAIN. For example different foods make my stomach hurt (anything spicy), all fruit hurts and make me burp, bread makes me burp lots, garlic as an ingredient in anything I buy will make me feel incredibly sick and nauseated (I think I can eat fresh garlic).. anything with carbonated water in it (even mineral water) will make my stomach hurt and obviously I'll burp a lot, and many more symptoms.
I have mild constipation/diarrhoea, which changes according to what I eat and if I go for a run that day. It's usually constipation.
I burp ALL the time. In the morning I'm burping away, even a drink of water makes me burp. I always feel incredibly sick in the morning and never ate breakfast. about 3 months ago I started regularly eating breakfast and lost a bit of weight so have stuck with it. I have to eat as soon as I wake up, if I wait over half an hour then I feel too sick to eat. I can also only eat a tiny amount, my appetite is non existant (whereas usually I can eat loads).
I've never found out what is wrong with my stomach, and I just thought that EVERYTHING made me feel sick. I even tried a carrot for breakfast and got heart burn. I've avoided apples and anything with carbonated water in it for a long time. I have them occasionally and will regret it. Most fruits make me feel sick/hurt etc. Maybe only very ripe bananas and mangos I can eat fine. Love to cook but am frustrated by not finding anything that makes me feel OK. I thought I had some kind of gluten sensitivity as have noticed bread makes me burp lots and feel sick too. Can't touch Ice cream, and milk and yoghurt make me feel sick too, and large amounts of hard cheese and any amount of soft cheese. Have totally gone off milk anyway and love soy milk now (no problem with soy milk i think) and eggs make me feel sick too, so am now vegan.
Biscuits and any baked goods I buy are very bad, HFCS? anyway..
I looked at MF on an IBS website a few years ago but didn't give it too much thought. I have recently been reading a book written by a naturopath on gut disorders. I think I could possibly have every problem in her book :D
I could have got leaky gut from the stress years ago which opened me up to food allergies and/or sensitivities. I was tested for celiac but am in the clear for that. I know someone who has severe celiac though and they said I sound like a younger/less severe version of himself. I suspect he also has FM but can't be sure. I know he's also lactose intolerant.
So in this book I've been reading it was talking about FM and it completely sounds like all my problems. There are SO many foods with fructose in them, no wonder I think "every" food makes me feel sick.
I've looked at a couple of lists of foods to eat/not to eat and I know I can't eat any fruit except bananas and mango (actually I'm not even 100% sure about those two). So that includes citrus and tomato. I don't think I can eat anything with fructans in it. I don't eat meat or eggs. I think I have lactose intolerance (or just a very slight sensitivity). I haven't been tested for FM yet but I definitely want to get it, even though my mother who's a nurse said it's not very effective.
SO WHAT CAN I EAT?! Please help me.
