pregnant on prednisone

I was just wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with pregnancy and being on prednisone. i am currently almost 23 weeks and having a slight flare for almost a month. I have tried everything and my doctor now wants me to try prednisone 20 mg to see if i can reach remission. just nervous and looking for some advice. thanks

I was on prednisone my whole pregnancy. My son was born healthy. Good luck.

From what I understand, prednisone is capable of crossing the placenta only in very small concentrations. There is a minor risk of congenital defects.

Before going into remission, I always worried about getting pregnant and being on prednisone, but I would assume your doc wouldnt prescribe it if it wasnt safe for your baby. Do you think your pregnancy is causing your flare up? Good luck to you and your baby

Yah...i think my pregnancy is causing the flare up...or maybe its just seasonal. I always seem to flare around this time of year. This little guy is so active all the time it wouldn't surprise me if it was just really irritating my bowels. I guess i will try it and see if it helps and hopefully i am already far enough along for any defects to occur. He is looking nice and healthy right now. And hopefully this will be for a short period of time. thanks for your responses.

I took it while pregnant, no problems.
