nothing you said has influenced my decision.(if I indeed decide to smoke again) I do what I think is right for me. There is such a thing as quality of life, and if you don't have that, what else matters?
And if you die from a smoking-related illness, you won't have to worry about
quality of life at all. Not trying to sound harsh, but it's the truth. Are there other UC meds you haven't tried yet that might be able to help you? It looks like you are on a low dosage of Asacol. Could you ask your doctor about
upping it? What about
trying Canasa or Cortifoam? You have lots of options...
So many people here are thinking about
going back to smoking just "a few" a day. Keep in mind that that is hard to do for most people because nicotine addiction builds tolerance which builds the desire to keep smoking more and more....I'm sure you all get it.
As a former smoker yourself Sara, it's hypocritical for you to judge someone else that continues to smoke, just my opinion. We are not gonna live forever even if we don't smoke and if smoking gives back some quality of life IBD wise then so be it and judging someone for whatever method they use to make their IBD symptoms feel better is just not fair...pred and most of all those other IBD meds don't come without risks either.
