Anyone found a cheap place to buy Asacol/Lialda?

Hey all,

I found a really cheap Canadian pharmacy for ordering Asacol. They called me a few days later to let me know it was in such demand it was on back order indefinitely.

Sooo, now I need to find a new place to order these meds from. Anyone have any suggestions??

I get mine for free through proctor and gamble's patient assistance program. I have ordered from canadadrugs.com though and had good results. Their 21 day guarantee is wonderful.

does your GI drs office have a voucher / assistance program? the voucher topic came up during the last visit i had with my GI. i'm not sure that it'll make a huge difference to you (i know these meds are very, very pricey - i used to have the worst insurance ever and had to pay for asacol upfront and then get reimbursed whenever the insurance folks felt like sending me a check), but it's worth asking at your drs office.

Apriso (same active ingredient as Asacol and Lialda) has a program where they will reimburse you for up to $50 per month. If you want more info on it let me know.

Apriso contains Aspartame! UCers should boycott it 'til Salix quits playing with our health. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

I looked into the patience assistance program but I dont see mto qualify.

I'm really frustrated trying to get all my meds and now pay though the nose...

I can't believe the generic asacol is in such demand my Canadian pharmacy is on back-order for so long :(

just go to CanadaDrugs.com

P&G seems pretty tight about the PA program. Other companies aren't. I had to submit tax forms to participate. Luckily I have been unemployed and was elligible. If I were employed I would have trouble paying for all these drugs since insurance only seems to cover a certain percent and copays are pretty high.

Wow canadaDrugs.com is over 2x as expensive as canadian pharmacy I was previously ordering from :(

Well it's less than half as expensive as the US pharmacies. Better to pay a little more than to flare, haha. Look around, there are other pharmacies. I've never seen one half the cost of CanadaDrugs but I am sure they exist. No wonder they are backordered with those prices. Hope you get some low cost Asacol soon!
