 I know that joint pain is one of the side effects of UC. For the last 2 weeks I have been having SEVERE pain in my legs and the bottom of my feet are "burning". Did you ever get sand in your shoes and try to walk? Thats what it feels like. I went to my PCP and was told it was from my back. ( I do have back problems ). However, I don't believe these pains are from my back. Has this ever happened to anyone else and how long did it last?

Why don't you think its from your back if you've had problems there?

Could also be from low B vitamins or too high B vitamins?? low D??

Hormonal changes would also attribute to foot pain. You do have low thyroid. Have you had that checked out recently?

I do get foot/leg pain from my back, but there are also other reasons for burning feet.wouldn't there be Dr. A?

Is the skin on your feet normal or are there changes there as well?

Could you have plantar warts?

Yes, most definately (Diabetic neuropathy), but it is often from the lower portion of spinal cord since that is what's powering up that whole area. You work on the most obvious causes first, especially since the poster already said they had LB problems. I only had one lady in 6 years that had leg foot pain not related to the lower spine. I usually take a look at the feet to rule them out, or in.

Most of the time we try and make it more complicated than it needs to be.

For the last few days i have been getting a lot of leg pain and my ankle keeps giving out when im walking i put mine down to coming off pred which i finished a week ago i see GI in just over a week so if still happening i will say something its like a burning stabbing pain whats yours like?

 First let me say thank you for your replys. OK, Let me now try to answer your questions. I am not a Dr. but I don't feel these pains are related to my back because having had lower back problems for many years these pains are like none I have ever had with my back condition. Without pulling out my reports I have a "bulging disc @ L1-S5" (or it's L5-S1). Thyroid levels are normal, Skin color in feet is normal, no changes, good pulse was detected. I have no plantar warts. Don't have the info to answer the Vit. B or D question. Most of the pain is in the knee area. Muscles in legs feel very "tight". There has been an improvement over these last 2 weeks but find to improve I need to stay off my feet. Also very fatigued.

It would be L5-S1 disc, which does correlates to your area of pain. Knee may be pred related since its a rather large joint. Disc problem usually radiate down below the knee, one of the classic signs. If it didn't start to get better after a few adjustments then I'd start to worry about it.
