Ok so I think I know the path of attack to head towards when we go see her GI... before we get to "having" to use the Immunosupressants... we'll try the ASA + Pred and see how we go.... also try a liquid enema maybe?? Is there any of the ASA's you would recommend we ask to try first. I notice alot of people on here are using asacol or lialda???

Asacol and Lialda are usually the first medication to try. These medications start to disperse at the "beginning" of the colon and the medication moves downward to the sigmoid area. For people with left sided colitis or the ones that do not dissolve Asacol/Lialda usually have a better shot at Colazal. Some people lack the proper PH level in their colon to break down Asacol or Lialda which in turns doesn't allow them to heal properly. Also, not everyone can handle the mesalamines such as Asacol and Lialda (me being one of them) and do better on Colazal (basalazide). It just takes trial and error to find the right combination of medication.
