jus joined this forum , i got ulceritive collitus couple years ago without warning, ended up in hospital undiagnosed until bein in for bout 3 days, had emergency operation to get the bag an large intestine removed, have semi recently been back in hospital to get the pouch an jus waitin on the final part of the reversal be couple months frm now, if anyone wants to ask me any questions ill be glad to answer them (i know everyones cases wont be the same as mine!) is anyone on here waitin for the final part of the reversal ? or has had it done id be intrested to hear some answers to a couple questions i have!

Hi a_lad, and welcome to HealingWell! Most of us on this forum are still battling UC, but there are many who have had UC and have gone on to have the jpouch surgery with much success, and they still pop in from time to time to let us know how they are doing. Check out HealingWell's Ostomy forum or www.jpouch.org because I'm sure they will be very helpful in answering any of your questions. Thanks for taking the time to help us on the UC forum by answering our questions...we tend to have many since there is a chance we could be headed in the same direction. I had jpouch surgery 8 years ago. I love my jpouch! Carol's recommendation on visiting the jpouch site is great. You'll find a wealth of knowledge and support on that site.

ive jus looked thru this forum an didnt find my post, until know, its not the end of the world if you do have thart massive flare up! i know people doin the steroid treatment hope it never happens but its really not that bad! hospital time is crap granted but you will feel sooo much better after it, prbly not the answer ur lookin for.. if u actually hav the op that will be a year or so till u hopefully leave it behind, wots a year or two within ur life? if u can live the rest of it fairly normally??
