I ache all over and have been for the past few days, its worse as the day gets on.

I suffer the fatigue that comes with Colitis...and thats obviously tiredness aswell as general lethargy. My concern is - could this be the Prednisolone causing the aching, as it feels different from the usual lethargy/tiredness? I've been on varying doses of Pred for the past 6 months and am trying to taper off, without success. I'm worried it may have begun affecting my joints. confused

I started aching when I got down to 20mgs of Pred. I had horrific knee pain the 2nd night of tapering to 20mg, then it slowed down, then this week i had it again when tapering to 15mg. I think it's part of your adrenal glands trying to adjust. if it keeps up and is unbearable you may want to taper more slowly.

Some say Prednisolone causes aching but I have really noticed it since I tapered off Pred and moved on to Imuran (125mg). All my joints ache and it feels really bad when I wake up. Many others complain of Arthritis like conditions. I see specialist on 27th July so will ask question and see if there is any way to combat aching joints without letting the stomach pains return.

I have been really aching since coming of pred my legs more so they feel heavy to move sometimes.

I never noticed aching from prednisone (although I did get muscle cramps). It might be anemia you are experiencing, or some other chemical imbalance.
