Typically the nauseous symptoms are due to inflammation in the mucosa lining of the bowel wall. When the inflammation is moderate to severe, this is known as a "flare". This is when symptoms are the worst for most people. When the inflammation is nonexistent to mild, this is known as "remission". This is when the symptoms go away for most people. I will wager that you will have to wait until you are close to remission in order for the symptoms to go away. Remission can last many years for some people, others aren't so lucky. With UC there is no "known" cure, so the flares may inevitably return if the disease is not properly treated/maintained.
