Nausea and vomiting from flagyl?

Well I had heartburn all night so I finally threw up and feel better but now I'm nauseas again. has anyone experienced this?

Flagyl make me way sicker when I took it.  The pills I was taking had lactose as an ingrediant. I am highly sensitive to lactose.

It didn't help me and I got thrush in my mouth, my tounge was white and burning. I had to take Nystantin for it. It wipes out all you good and bad bacteria, so watch out this is a strong one.

yep, i was sick as a dog on it. switched to vancocin and worked like a charm (was taking for cdiff)

Yeah I threw up half the day and when I wasn't I was nauseas. I'm supposed to take this for another 5 days. It was quite interesting to have to run with my IV pole from the Remicade chair to throw up fro the flagyl induced heartburn and nausea!

Yeah, Flagyl is like taking insecticide-- yuck! It can give you a metallic taste that lasts until you get off it so be sure to keep drinking plenty of water. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

My dr put me back on it today !!!! It makes me very sick as well . I am going to start it 2marrow just could not bring myself of starting it today lol

shelliesv, by any chance while on flagyl did you have ceasar salad with wine? Apparently that combination can most definitely cause both nausea and vomitting (alcohol in general on flagyl can do that for many, but in essence while on any type of antibiotics drinking should be completely avoided).

I didn't have any food at all since last Friday! Yesterday during my Remicade they gave me a shot of phengram (sp?) to prevent nausea and I went and threw up 15 minutes later! I can't win!

Flagyl and Cipro make a number of people very sick. AS was said, NOTHING with alcohol-even mouthwash-and if the Phenergan didn't work, ask for Zofran. It is expensive but works well.
