I just moved to the Princeton, NJ area and am looking for a UC specialist around here or near philly. I hear UPENN has a great program. Do any of you have any experiences with doctors from PENN? or around princeton, NJ?

     I live in Bellmawr, NJ (exit 3 of the turnpike).  I have a regular GI doctor whom I have been seeing since being diagnosed eleven years ago.  He just referred me to a Dr. Liechenstein at the Univ of PA hospital in Philly because my doctor is at the limitation of treatment for me.  Seems my flares are occuring more frequently (ulcerative proctitis).  Currently I am taking 25 mgm of prednisone (tapering from 40 mgm at 5 mgm per week), 100 mgm of 6MP, Colazal (nine capsules daily), Cort enemas nightly and Canasa suppository in the morning.  I seem to be getting better but slow process.  The side effects of the prednisone and 6MP are horrible...insomnia, heartburn (taking Nexium while on prednisone), extreme fatigue.
