Hey all,
Been over a year since I been on the website...was diagnosed in 05' with colitis. Had the flare until mid 06 and then a light flare last year and I think it is happening again.
So, here's the scoop. I have been having diarrhea for a couple weeks but don't go a lot over the course of the day. Some days only three times, others a time or two more or less. Really, not the same each day and not every day I have blood. Yes, the little demon that shows up in the bowl. LOL I am thinking I am looking at another doctor's visit in the near future. Can't get in until a couple weeks from now, I have a couple days off then.
Thing is, I would hope this is something I could nip in the bud and try some over the counter meds. first thinking I could help it stop. This time, it is not as bad as the first time in 05' of course (that was hell) and then last year was light (just a couple months and then I was fine). Of course, meant taking Imuran, Coloazal and the necessary evil drug Prednisone.
Out of your experience, do you think I am in a flare? I am still new to this. Do I just take for granted when there's blood in the stool (not every time) and I do have some urgency sometimes then I am? Would that be my guidelines to go by for the rest of my life? My doctor is good but not the best in his bedside manner you go in and your are out QUICK. I guess I can call the doctor's office and see if I can get in those days I will be off hoping that this will go away by itself but if not, I know what is ahead of me.
What do you think? I am not lactose intolerant and I do eat the Light and Fit yogurt almost daily (one container..should I eat more?) and don't drink or smoke or drink coffee. Basically, other than this stupid colon acting up, I am healthy as a horse. : )
Okay...will go now...getting too wordy. That's Italian for you! LOLOL
Thank you very much for your help and support.
