Anyone try ionized water as a remedy?

Your digestive tract is not dirty. The body is exquisitely balanced to manage wastes, primarily using the liver and kidneys. More money is taken from desparate people in the name of "colon cleansing" than you could imagine.

Try this if you must, but please continue with your medications and don't bust your budget on it.

Done that and done enemas with it. Unless you turn off the immune system you won't remedy the UC.

try not to get too desperate.

Do a lot more reading on why UC is the way it is rather than believing too much of the "fantastic" realm where remedies come from.

But, people have good intentions in sending you that stuff I guess...but the information is definitely wrong.

My feeling is same as fruitgirl. There is a lot of misinformation.
From few sentences, its clear that Ionized water contains free reactive species (carrying negatively charged 'particles') You would be surprised to know that these are called as Reactive Oxygen Species(ROS) in scientific world and our body has a defense mechanism to combat them. If something is SOO useful to your body, I wonder why body would develop a defense mechanism against them?
My feeling is, if such water is charged as they claim, it would do more harm than benefit and I would complete disregard this information.

Ionized water is simply water that has a high ph (more basic). When a basic (like this water), hits an acid (like your stomach acid), it neutralizes. Within seconds your ionized water is no more ionized than tap water ... pretty hard to believe that it would have any impact.

That said, I always liked the taste of ionized water (a friend spent $4,000 on some crazy Japanese water ionization device). At the highest (most basic) ph, it tastes like fresh glacier water at the source .... yummy.
