Food -> bleeding. How long?

I have been doing great lately, no blood in a while. Then last night I had a huge piece of chocolate cake at a birthday party. Today all of sudden, I'm bleeding again...

Anyone know the time laps between foods that cause problems and the irritation that results?

You're flaring if you're bleeding.

Chocolate cake won't make you bleed....unless you see the colour as blood.

What meds are you on?

Yep you are flaring. I had chocolate last night.

Yep. I have to be very careful about chocolate too. I can really understand why chocolate is toxic to dogs and parrots.

I was told by my GI doc that chocolate is very irritating to an already irritated gi tract. Also I have seen on this board that other people have taken chocolate and started bleeding afterwards.

my opinion is it is the cake. that would defintaly happen to me. i hate uc. hate hate hate :( also just to let you know chocolate imparis the digestive system. Birds will eat the white pith out of the coco pod but they will not touch the bean. I know this. I work for Godiva.

Chocolate doesn't bother me unless my tract is already inflamed and ready to act up.

I just realized I'm ovulating too, my symptoms never fails to act up at this time of the month for me.

I've heard sugar is an immuno-suppressant too, not sure massive amounts of sugar along with the cocoa helped my situation either. Maybe it's something in beans in general: coffee, cocoa, what about garbanzo or pinto beans???

I'm still wondering about a time lapse for inflammation. Stress or food related. How long does it take for the inflammation take to act up or calm down? Anyone?
