Hair loss on Azathioprine?

I started Azathioprine almost 6 weeks ago and have been suffering hair loss since around week 2, i was also on pred though but came off that 2 weeks ago. It doesn't seem to be slowing down though and i'd say i've lost about 50% of it already, although i'd noticed loads on the floor, in the bath and in the sink i only noticed how thin it had become a couple of days ago!

I'm starting to get really worried it's not going to stop falling out until it's all gone   Is there anything i can take to prevent it or at least to help it grow back? Does anyone know how long it normally lasts before it will stop falling out so much?

I have naturally thick hair so I didn't mind losing some of it when I started on 6mp. Yes I had ALOT of hairloss in the beginning but it slowed down around the 2 month mark and then it stopped falling out once my body got used to the med. I can only imagine if someone's hair is thin and then to have it fall out like that..........

Right now I am taking Biotin 5mgs (or 5000mcgs). I originally started taking it to help with deep horizontal ridges in my nails but then I noticed that it helped with my hair. It actually sped up my hair and nail growth. about 80% (this percentage may be wrong since I forgot what I read but it's in that ball park figure) of Biotin is produced in the large intestine. If you have constant D, it can deplete the body of Biotin which can result in the deep nail ridges and hair loss. With the proper levels of Biotin in the body, it can promote healthier hair, skin and nails.

I take the Biotin too. Helps A LOT. I have super fine and thin hair -- but I have a ton of it. When it started to fall out it wasn't good... Biotin has been working for me.
