Okay 20+ times today and passing no stool. Just blood and mucus. Strong cramping pain, fatigue, trembling. I have an appointment with my GI tomorrow. Any idea what to expect? Has anyone else had days similar to this? Thanks everyone.

If I was passing NO stool then I would worry about a blockage.  Glad you are going to the doctor!

I have days that i only pass blood and mucus, no stool. Then the next day i will go 5-6 times and it is stool with blood and mucus. This flare is up to 2 months and cannot get under control. I am now on Prednizone and cort enemas along with Lialda as a controller.

Thanks for all the input. I guess I am concerned because this is the most blood ever. Just generally feel horrible. Hopefully, my GI will have some new suggestions tomorrow because the Asacol, Colazol and the others just aren't working.

Yes at times I will go a day or two with no BM's, just blood and mucus...

Hi aned,

If you're not already taking a good probiotic (at least 10 billion CFU) daily and indefintely as well as a fibre supplement (also daily and indefinitely) then I strongly urge you to give them both a good long try (it varies for each person before seeing results) and at the point of you being at 20+ times a day of blood and mucous, I would ask the GI for rectal meds (my personal favorite is Cortifoam cuz I find it works quickest and best for me).

that sounds like every flare i have.

all blood and mucous, no poos. lots of pain, and cramping.... AND i even puke when sitting on the can cuz the pain is so bad.
happened again jsut a few hours ago.
chai tea lattes are nasty when they come back up. i can still taste it. yuck!

but yeah, i lose heaps of blood when i flare. i have to have iron infusions for anemia.
and it was scary at first see nothing but blood and mucous.... cuz you think "wheres the poo? i eat, where'd it go? will it ever come out?"
after a year and half of this every day, i got used to it.
now it seems normal for me.

i'd often be falling to the floor with that kind of frequency, but now i might have to run to the washroom 10 times per day.
