If I don't I'll explode. Little boy came out of daycare this evening, and we eventually noticed he wasn't using his right arm. Went out fine. Came back home with a hurt arm. No mention of that from them today. I can already feel my guts rumbling. Really can't remember last time I was this mad.

wow, I can understand the anger, but find out the answers by enquiring before you do any blame. Did your son tell them he was in any pain?

Hope you get to the bottom of it quickly.

They have no idea of course. He magically lost all arm movement in the car ride home I guess. Still same this morning. Think it may possibly be his elbow. It's hard to go out of angry parent mode into doctor mode. Going to take him to out to see an associate I work with this morning since he is good with dislocations then go from there.

God, my heart goes out to your little guy- what happened??!?!?! Is he ok? Thankfully we were able to avoid daycare- but it meant tag-team parenting for years. The husband came home from work, & I ran out the door to work overnights! I have not-so-fond memories of getting up in the middle of the night to use the breast pump... ugh... Is this a daycare you've been using for some time? Have your other children gone there? It seems unlikely that a baby of that age could have an accident & injure his arm himself... So sorry!!!!!! Please let us know how he is. It's easy to dislocate a babies arm- a lot of people (my sister included!) have done it themselves while diaper changing, etc. But you know if it's happened! There is no excuse for this to happen & for them to have no explanation.

Scary!! I hope he's okay! Poor little guy :(
Something like this happened to my cousin at daycare. The daycare lady ended up breaking both of her arms and I don't think she was even a year old...

LFTC, I'd like to have one of those web cams too, just for that added peace of mind. But, one of the centers in my town has them, but we were NOT impressed with the staff there when we went to interview them when I was pregnant. They acted like it was an imposition to show us around the center, avoided our questions about their staff turnover rate (gave us some crap about it being hard to keep good people in daycare), and basically seemed to think we'd be impressed by their shiny new center and video cameras. The place we chose doesn't have cameras and is a little bit care-worn, but the staff is amazing. Most of them are grandmas and have 15+ years in childcare. They have only lost one employee since they opened 10 years ago, too! It's a tradeoff, I suppose. So far, we've been really lucky. It's an agonizing decision to make.

I went next door to my neighbor MD for his advice this morning. Gave him what I thought it was and he basically told me his elbow needed adjusted, lol. Nursemaids elbow, dislocated radial head. I x-rayed it to make sure there were no fractures and took him to another chiropractor in our other office that is a little more experienced with that adjustment so I could see what the heck to do. Scott adjusted his arm, and I iced it today and he's already using it again. Starting to grip things too, and I learned another trick. Should be good in few days after inflammation goes down.

Daycare said he had fallen but hadn't made much fuss about it so they paid it no mind. If something doesn't leave a bruise or a mark they don't make a report on it. We told them we would discuss whether to bring him back there or not over the weekend. He has been there for 8 months with no problems except there horrid menu.

Oh, the true joy of being a Dad!  Sure hope he will be fine.  You have a right to be upset and sure must be hard to go into Dr. mode.  You did the right thing to have someone else look at it right away.  If he was using his arm when he left daycare probably they did not realize.  Kids fall so much!
