HelloKitty
From 2005 to 2007 things got progressively worse but I refused to go back on the meds. Things have only approved since late 2007, when I started to seriously investigate diet.
I have never been to the website rawfoodsupport.com. Thanks for the heads up, I really do struggle sometimes with raw (especially in winter) so I could certainly use extra encouragement and support.
If I could stick with raw vegan 100%, I have no doubt that I could heal my UC completely. But I can’t stick to it 100% and this frustrates me greatly.
I can’t eat a high fruit diet and I can’t eat nuts, so I try to balance my diet out by having a mixture of raw vegan and cooked vegan. I am still occasionally eating meat but I know I will have to stop because it is so bad for UC.
I try to stick to a simple diet everyday: juices, smoothies, raw salads, occasionally steamed vegetables and potatoes or soups.
Coming up to Christmas is always hard. Last night I abandoned juices for wine, chicken and chocolate and by God am I in pain today.
If I am flaring due to a bad food choice or from stress, I will sometimes I will do a 2 or 3 day juice fast. As this is the only thing that settles me down and helps me improve.
Green smoothies are excellent too.
I have done website links for juicing and green smoothies under the thread “depression & UC” posted by Chips Mom.
Chia seed gel is absolutely fantastic for my bowels

This gel (I put it in juices and smoothies) has changed and revolutionised my life.
My diet is by no means perfect, but it is helping.
