I did it twice, at home. It cost less than $5. I was quite sure of my donor, my granddaughter. She really was too young for me to worry about
picking up any diseases from her.
I had to do it twice. The first time it worked (only three treatments). It put me immediately into remission. But I had to be on antibiotics a few times for bladder infections that I got after having been on pred. I started flaring again after having been on antibiotics although not as bad as before.
I've been in remission since doing fecal transplantation the second time (only two treatments) and so far have not had to be on antibiotics. I don't even eat meat that contains antibiotics just in case. I did get some sinus infections, but I took Sudafed, used a Neti Pot, and waited them out.
I think it's great that you plan to try fecal transplantation. $10,000 is quite high, but if you can afford it then go for it.
I have never read of anyone having a serious issue from doing fecal transplantation at home or in a medical office for that matter. Perhaps this person choose someone who had an overabundance of bad bacteria. It's good to make sure your donor's poo is healthy, which is why I choose my granddaughter's poo.
