My family physician was the one who wrote me a script
for hydrocodone.

my gi gives me hydrocodone as well but i have found it tends to stop me up a bit so i try to avoid it becouse relieving the pain at that moment is not worth the pain that will eventually come when i can finally go.

Yes they should. Although my experience with any type of codeine or opiate based painkillers is that they aren't worth the temporary release of pain symptoms. They all cause constipation and i nearly always bleed a lot more when i eventually go. The pain of constipation with UC can be extremely bad. If you are taking pain meds, just be careful and watch how your body reacts.
Hope you feel good soon
Marty
