Got the go-ahead for the Remi infusion this Friday

     Yahooooo....getting my 4th infusion on Friday.  Keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer please will ya folks that it works this time and I can get into remission.  Thanks.  Love you all!!!

I'm sending you HUGE wishes that it goes great for you with no ill effects afterwards.. I'm still betting you had a stomach bug last time and will feel just fine after this infusion :)

I'll be Anxiously awaiting to hear how it goes~~!!!

Said a prayer already! I'll have my wife cross her second toe for you too. She has one of those extra long ones that she can pick things up with, lol. She also would kill me if she read this.

Dr-A, it's ok. I can pick things up with my toes, too...they're all really long! I can even open doors with my toes. It comes in handy at times!

fruitgirl and Dr-A: I have very long, dexterous toes as well. I've thrown things with them before.

     Thank you all.  I am having a very bad morning....terrible pain and pressure in the rectum, four bowel movements...some formed stool but with blood and a lot of pain in trying to pass it.  I called my GI doctor to ask if I should start the prednisone should I not get some relief from my Remicade infusion.  I simply cannot stand this pain any longersad .

Oh no, that does not sound good. I hope the Remicade treatment today will provide some relief and you can avoid the prednisone. Please let us know how it goes.

     Thanks Carol.  The nurse had a hard time with my veins yesterday.  She had to stick me twice in my best vein but that gave out half way through the infusion.  She then had to stick me five times before finding a vein in my right hand..ugh...lol.   I was in that office for five hours.  My poor hubby was waiting in the waiting room.  I felt so bad for him.  He said he didn't mind as the seats were comfortable and they put the Olympics on tv for him.

     Unfortunately, I still have bad pressure in my rectum today.  I didn't sleep but about two hours last night.  My GI doctor said something about wanting me to have an ultrasound of the pelvic area...hmmm....have no idea why.  I hope the Remicade kicks in, if not, it is goodbye to Remicade and hello to Humira.mad

Christine... sorry you had to go through that with your veins.  My husband has those problems so had a port put in for chemo and to draw blood - what a blessing.  If you continue Remicade you should look into that.  Sure hope it works for you and FAST!!

Checking out the pelvic/rectal area might be a good idea - go for it - just might get some answers!  I still believe even not so good answers are better than none and they can treat you accordingly!!

Aww, heck Christine. I hope you start getting some relief. I also have to have them do the iv in the right hand vein; it's the only thing that works! Plus remember to drink a lot of water beforehand; maybe something you already do, but it does help. Take care, and know I'm thinking about you and sending positive vibes your way.

     No relief yet...cry .  Was soooo hoping the Remicade would work.  Cannot wait much longer.  Good thing I took the hydrocodone.  I believe it was the only thing that kept me out of the hospital this weekend.  First thing tomorrow morning I am calling my GI doctor to tell him something has to be done.

OH Christine I'm SOOOO Sorry!! I know how you were hoping on the Remi for some improvement... I know the feeling of dissapointment where Remi is concerned since I cannot take it anymore either.

I'm praying that you get some relief, somehow.. Maybe the Remi needs a few days to kick in... good idea on calling your GI Monday and getting some action going though.. Hang in there!!! XOXOOOOOOOOOOOOO (lots of hugs)...

Has your GI considered raising the remicade dose? Unless he's uncomfortable with doing that, I'd look into it before moving right on to Humira - save that big gun med as one of your last resorts.

      Capecoddah....I hope to see my GI tomorrow and I will discuss that with him.  The nurse said I am receiving 5gm?  Does that sound right?  She said the top dose is 10 but it goes according to body weight and I am 125 lbs.  So far no improvementcry .  Thank God for hydrocodone...that is what is keeping me out of the hospital this weekend.  The pain and pressure in my rectum is really bad, passing blood whenever I even pass gas....doesn't sound too good does it?  Just hope and pray it isn't the big C.

I really hope this kicks in for you.  I had my sixth one last month and nothing.  I am starting Humira this week.  I thought for sure the Remicade was going to be it for me.  I hate that pressure and pain in the rectum.  I have been suffering from it also.  I will let you know how I make out on the Humira.  Maybe it will work.  Good luck Christine.  Hope you feel better.
