Allpurinal, prednison, and surgery

I have tryed all the "normal" meds for my UC.  All that has ever worked is prednison, not a drug you want to be on for 10 years.  I have always had bad rections to the meds or they did nothing.  Allpurinal is supposed to be a new drug for UC, my Dr. put me on it and about 5 weeks later my white count dropped very low, enough to send me to the hospital.  Now I have a low amun system already due to the liver transplant.  Im wondering if it was really the allpurinal or just another thing that happend, I get sick a lot.  Has anyone else been on this.  Surgery seems like the next step due to all the reactions.  I meet wit the surgon monday I just wanat to make sure I have used up all my options first. 

my apointment is the 1st.  the only problem I have with it really is I cant have the second step surgery. Sooo that leaves me with the pouch for the rest of my life. Not really my idea of a good time.  but it is conferting to know people that there are people that are happy with the surgery.

is it super funnest thing in the world? nah, but it is bad? nope not at all! havent found a thing it keeps me from doing, and it doesnt show or smell, and noone knows its there.
