Elaine- quite the contrary- your skin is often a signal of what's going on INSIDE your body. Eczema, psoriasis, for instance, usually have a fungal etiology. If you took antibiotics, and had a flare within 2 weeks, that is quite a telling sign that your symptoms are probably fungal related. Antibiotics are fungal metabolites, and foods like sugar, bread, and grains feed fungus/yeast. I also had yeast tests done and nothing showed up. The tests doctors order is usually not specific enough, looking for a particular fungus. Fungus can spread and grow in your body over the years before manifesting itself with symptoms, so people don't connect antibiotics, water-damaged/moldy homes or workplaces, renovating homes, birth control pills with their symptoms if the symptoms show up later in life.
Within 2-4 weeks of expeimenting on the antifungal diet, you would know whether or not your symptoms are fungal related...you would start feeling so much better. You may have unpleasant die-off symptoms during the first week, however, which often causes some to stop the diet as they think it's not helping them.
Girl, I say go for it! I'll even do it with you if you need support! And, I'm starting my spring break in a few weeks, so I'd be sacrificing a lot :)
