Prednisone, Poop, and remission??

While taking Prednisone do you have to have formed poops to know that it is working

and that you are starting to heal your colon?

Is it ok to have a loose poop 1-2 times a day with no blood while on Prednisone?

Would it be ok to wean Pred under these conditions?

My advice is always follow the doctor's prescription. Taper as he/she has directed.

There's no specific results you are supposed to see on prednisone. Some people heal in a matter of days on prednisone, some don't heal at all.

Blood is the most significant sign of a flare in my opinion. If blood has stopped, I consider that improvement.

I don't know. For me, on just pred, I have the very soft poops, but it never fully gets rid of the blood for me, so I have a different experience. I agree that in my opinion, the absence of blood is a very important indicator, but I would definitely not taper without the advice of my doctor. When it comes to steroids, I always follow their advice.

No blood is what I've always been told as fantastic. But yeh always check with Doctor ask what they think. Do you feel better? Thats what will matter to you most.
