The trick to surviving these random virus attacks: keep yourself hydrated. Sip a bit of water every 10 minutes-- then progress to a few sips of fruit juice after you hold the water down. I've found natural cranberry juice especially helpful in combatting nausea. When you can tolerate water & juice, try a small amount of broth. If you can keep the liquids down, take your Colazal. The colon needs every assist it can get, virus or no virus. There has been a really nasty norovirus going around NE U.S. over the past few months-- Eva Lou & I each got it & had an extraordinary amount of intestinal rumbling for days, in addition to some nausea + D that came out like a c-scope prep purge! Wonder if that's what you caught from your son ... It really was yucky. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
