Dizziness occasional blackouts

Want to know if anyone suffers from these symptoms. Either regularly or just before a case of inflammation. As I'm experiencing these symptoms at the moment. And I'm in the midst of a flare up that has just started

Yep booked in already. But was curious to see if it was a common symptom with UC sufferers

I had dizziness way back years ago, along with total drop in body temperature even in 90 degree heat. No doctor ever had any opinion about it even though it happened several times.
To explain how bad it was: I was self-employed and had perhaps 2 sick days away from work in 24 years and I had to lock the business door and go home where I passed out but didn't blackout.

My diagnosis is that I was soooo constipated that my body shut down. At that time I was still struggling with getting a balance between D and C, preferring C because I could work without worry. But C can cause toxic megacolon at it's worst which I believe I narrowly escaped.
It seemed that my blood pressure went down to nothing and body shutdown occurred. Just my laypersons opinion.

I'll be interested if your doc has an opinion. (Be careful of extreme C)

I had dizziness and faintness from the anemia caused by bleeding everyday. I didn't realize how serious anemia can be until my numbers dropped so low. Whatever you have going on, please don't ignore it.

I used to get dizzy and black out for a few seconds when standing up.

I also have fairly low blood pressure and it was even lower in high school (once got a reading of 88/60), plus allergies. This was before I was ever diagnosed.

Check it out ASAP with a reliable doctor. I've had it when very debilitated from a severe UC flare, but also from med that disagreed. One can also get it from a bad herbal combo. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

It's related to being weak, anemic, ...

I've had low blood pressure all my life though. I inherited that from my mom. It can get so low that it does not register, and the nurses/doctors have to take it repeatedly until they get a measurement. I've even had one doctor switch stethoscopes. That was when I was 22 and in the hospital for pneumonia. I also was lacking oxygen at the time: they had me on an oxygen tank.

I don't worry about it. The worst that has happened to me is that I've fainted. Once I passed out for a few seconds while driving. My eldest daughter was in the seat next to me. I had swerved into the next lane. It was a hot day, and I had the windows closed. Now I'll open up the windows a bit if I feel like I'm not getting enough air.

Nope. I don't worry about it. I always get pre-warned--a feeling of being weak, of not getting enough air, or of feeling lightheaded from exercise (like walking up the stairs).

There was actually one time when I was back in high school, we were smoking in the garage. I didn't get enough air, blacked out, and dropped to the floor. When I got back up again (my friends helped me up), I still couldn't see. My friends opened the garage door and took me for a walk outside. I couldn't see for awhile, but gradually with the air coming back, I started to be able to see again. It was a very interesting experience. I was blind and yet I felt very safe holding onto my friend's arm.

Yah. I was a real hypochondriac about it when I was in my teens. But none of the doctors could find anything wrong with me. At 47, I don't worry about it.

Yah. I get light headed too when I have to stand in line. I do balancing exercises or my footwork for classical Indian dance, anything that isn't too distracting to those around me. It keeps the blood pressure from falling.

A few years ago, my mom fainted while watching my niece's elementary school graduation ceremony. There weren't enough chairs; so we had to stand for a really long time. She was okay, but they called an ambulance. No one thinks it's a big deal when you're young and faint, but when your in your 60s...

Lack of blood circulation. Not enough oxygen in the blood. Low heart rate. Low blood pressure to begin with (so that the drop goes too low).

Yes. Blood loss makes me more weak, lightheaded, dizzy, faint. So do certain medications.

I don't think it's related to colitis per say. I think it's related to having a disease, losing blood, and having to take medications.
