How long should I give Humira?

I have given myself eight injections so far of Humira and due for the ninth this weekend.  Should it have worked by now?  Should I be in remission?  I thought I read some where it might take about twelve weeks.  Just wondering if I should continue.  Any thoughts?

Not sure but I am pregnant if it is not working I would rather not be taking it. I could always try one of those other ones that are out. I am using Canasa now for about two weeks and just started Proctofoam. Just couldn't hold the Rowasa's in. They cost me $500 a month so I might as well just flush that money down the toilet literally. It looking more and more like the dreaded prednisone is coming again. Hate to take it because it is just a temporary fix.

     I just took my 4th injection today.  It really isn't doing anything for me either.  I was going to just chuck it but my GI doctor told me to continue.  I have an appointment with a colorectal surgeon next Tuesday, so going to get the ball rolling in that department.  This disease is a bummer.  Today I had a great day!  Felt wonderful, only one poop, no blood.  Sunday was terrible, urgency, bleeding. Monday, no blood but urgency.  Yesterday went about six times with urgency...today one poop, no blood.  Crazy .

     By the way...I say 4th injection, but you know what the drill is...first time 4 injections, second time two and now only one every two weeks.

     I wasn't aware it took twelve weeks.  I just wanted to make sure I lined up a colorectal surgeon before I get soooo bad that I will have to be hospitalized.

I started Humira last fall with 1 pen injection every 2 weeks (following the standard initial injections). After 3 months of use it began to show some signs and brought me down from 4-6 bathroom trips a day to 3-4... but still all diarrhea - just less urgency. My doctor suggested I do 2 injections every 2 weeks (both at the same time), and following 1 month of doing that I am going solid again 2-3 times a day.

If you can tolerate it... give some more time, and then if nothing else ask your doctor if 2 injections instead of 1 is possible with your situation. I don't normally write on here (just a lurker), but my hope is this information will be helpful to you.

I thought I had read it could take at least three months. I thought it might have started to work but I got pregnant and threw a wrench into the situation. I will keep the two shots in mind though for the future.
