Hi Zoom, and welcome to the forum!
Some doctors are starting to think of Remicade as a first line med because it's been found to actually heal the ulcers in the colon. Ask your doc what the reasoning is for starting so quickly. My doctor started me quickly too -- six months and I was on Remi but nothing else was working and was making me feel worse. I had someone who was close to me already on Remi, so I was well aware of the potential side effects of Remi. I've been on it for 5 years with no problems; and my last colonoscopy was clean of ulcers and no polyps. It's a personal decision and something you must discuss in detail with your GI. Everyone is different! Again, welcome!
