Wish Me Luck

Well tomorrow I travel to Mass from CT to prepare for my colonoscopy Monday. It is about a 3 hr trip. My wife and I will be staying in a hotel, separate rooms ( I'm sure no need to explain why here). I will be using Moviprep. My GI is now working for a Hospital so that is where the procedure will be done. I liked it much better when he had his own practice and I could have it done in his office. I am bringing alot of stuff to put on my butt to hopefully ease the anal pain that comes with the purging. I got some buttpaste, A&D ointment, tucks supp $ wipes, some anal gel that I use for hemmi's, aloe enema's, mineral oil and a few other odds and ends...Couldn't find the clamoseptine( sp). God I hate the prep. My doc will also be doing an upper gastro scope. I will be fully knocked out. We all know the anxious feeling we get about this time My mom has had crohn's for about 20 years a recently dx with colon ca..So I am really sweating this one out!.....I'm sure in between the runs to the bathroom tomorrow night I'll be checking in....

Wishing you the best.  Sounds like you are well prepared.  I would like to say something that my Mom always told me - "DO NOT BORROW TROUBLE".  Wait until you get the results.  I had both tests done at once (also put out) - prep is the worse!

Let us know how the Movi Prep goes for you... I've heard it isn't too bad.. but then everyone's different :)

Rod..wow, you're having the both ends scope...a through and through..lol.

Please do not use an aloe enema or suppositories of any kind....it might interfere with the biopsy results, or should I say just in case, best to have a clean slate.

I find rinsing with a hand shower helpful after bms, dabbed afterward, and then a soothing cream on the outside helpful.

Hope all goes well...looking forward to the blow-by-blow.
