Hi I am new here, Q. Ascacol side effects? Sore throat or glands?

Hello fellow UCers. Hows it going? Maybe I shouldnt have to ask that i should know! I am from South Carolina and I am 35 years old. Anyway, question...for those of you that have been on or currently, When taking Ascacol HD (and i am trying 800 mg) two dosage a day...

What are you symptoms/side effects from this?

So far mine are mainly sore throat (but today feels like swollen glands) and cold like sympstoms to where it feels as if you are in the beginning stages of a cold.

I had noticed when i switched to the HD i had a sore throat/tonsils for about 4days and then it went away....hope that helps at all =)

Generally it should have few if any side effects. Asacol is really only an aspirin-like anti-inflammatory that is special because of the coating which won't dissolve until it is exposed to the ph that is in your colon. Very mild.

I like your nickname UCpainNass, I used to take Asacol, at first it worked then it stopped working and actually made my symptoms worse than ever. I got pains in my side near kidney area, also sometimes shortness of breath type of thing. It stopped once I stopped taking it switched to sulfa drug and boswellia herb. It can affect everyone differently.

Asacol made my flare worse. Colazol stopped working. Lialda gave me severe bloating.
