For several years - I'll say three- I consumed enormous amounts of water - Maybe a gallon or more a day.
Why? I don't know. Chalk it up to being American and if a little water each day is good for me, then a lot of water must be a whole lot better.
I am a very small person, so drinking all of this water often made me look quite bloated - imagine four months pregnant. Again, why would I keep doing this? Chalk it up to stupidity.
Why not, when everyone is walking around with a bottle of water like we are all trapped in the middle of a desert. A person today can't walk through the grocery store without a water in hand, or coffee for that matter. You wouldn't think of walking the dog without a water in tow- egads! You may dehydrate and blow away before reaching the next watering hole.
It was also part of a strange dieting scheme I had thunk up in my idle time. Drink yourself silly and you won't feel the need to eat. Great idea, huh? Not really.
Good Lord!
I couldn't leave the house for long without needing a pee break; this could often get dicey.
I would assess the bathroom possibilities of every planned location.
Anyway, I began to think that all of this water could be in turn hurting my colon. I was probably washing out any and all nutrition from food vitamins, etc. I also had tremendous pressure all the time from my over-filled bladder.
My GI thinks that this doesn't have any thing to do with any thing,
but wouldn't you think after so long with so much water I could have really offset the good flora in my gut?
Any thoughts?
