So, I'm on a laundry list of drugs that all say I am more prone to get other infections and have wounds take longer to heal. I took a digger in gravel Monday (fell with the baby in my arms; he's fine, no bumps but my knee is shredded from calf to mid-thigh).
I'm noticing that, 2 days later, it's still oozing (ew) and hasn't scabbed over, and the bruising is nasty. I cleaned the mud and gravel out extensively and put on ointment and have been changing the dressing regularly. I haven't skinned my knee like this since I was a kid though, and I don't know what's normal. It doesn't look "normal"; I can't believe I damaged myself this badly by just falling down in the dirt and suspect it has to do with the meds.
What kind of infections and healing problems are more likely with immuno-suppressants? Should I be concerned about this stupid skinned knee?
