Hi. I am on 6mp 50 mg and have been on it for over a year. I just developed a itchy rash starting on my ears and a little under the eyes and arms.
Do you think it could be from the 6mp even though I have been on it for over a year?

Or you have something else going on.....definitely get to the doctor and have it checked out.
Have you changed anything else such as soap, laundry detergent, hair products, etc....
Have you eaten anything in excess over the past few days?

I went to my primary care dr and he gave me a steroid shot with a 6day pred pack. After 3 days it came back. Then went to a dermatologist and he says Im allergic to something. I haven't changed anything... its so strange. Could it be the 6mp? None of the doctors said anything about
me being on it.

I have a chronic rash on my face (under the nose and chin) that I use prescript
ion Elidel to treat it. I went to the doc for it and she said that one of the side effects of 6mp is rashes. Sometimes when I get sick, I will get a rash all over my torso that sort of burns but it only lasts about
a day or so.
But as a side note, regardless if you have used the same products numerous times over the course of years, allergies can occur at ANY time. I say start with the process of elimination and if you can't find the culprit then it might be the 6mp. Btw, it took me about
a year to figure out the rash on my face was from the 6mp.

I have sensitive skin and allergic reactions to products aren't always instantaneous. I have even had instances where I went through a whole bottle of a product thinking it was great and then developed rash half way through the second bottle. I can't use hair conditioner at all (gives me a rash on my scalp and ears) or anything with petrolatum (mineral oil) in it. So, while it could be the 6mp it could also be another irritant. Sometimes they are hard to figure out when the reactions aren't instantaneous.
