Hey, if I don't "talk" to you over the wknd- GOOD LUCK on Monday!!!! Try to relax over the wknd, lay low, etc. I think you've made the right choice & that you will be really happy with your decision. Try not to freak out! Good luck- you'll be FINE!

Thank you all soooo very very much! What a wonderful group of people in this forum! I need positive vibes because I am so worried..lol.

I suppose it is just natural though. It'll take time, but I will get through it. Many people have told me I have one of the best surgeons and surgical teams in the country. Sure hope so! My surgeon did serve his residency at the Cleveland Clinic and is head of colorectal surgery at Penn Hospital. But I do wonder why the surgeon I saw a few years ago here in south Jersey poo pooed operating. Of course, that was before I became prednisone dependent. Maybe his opinion would be different now too.

I would think the fact that you would get off Prednisone would be a big reason you are more of a candidate for surgery now. I know my GI and surgeon both stressed that as a major reason I needed the surgery.

Best of luck. You will be on my mind on Monday and over the weekend. Positive thoughts to you, stay confident with your decision, you will be happy when all is over and you're on the road to healing. I imagine how scary it is but it will be worth it to be med free and feeling great!!

I am finally moved and settled into my new little house, and finally got my DSL on yesterday afternoon... JUST in time to wish you well on Monday and I'm so excited and happy for you!! Just think.. 48 hours from now, you will be U/C FREE!!!!

Your new life will bring challenges of it's own, but they won't be as hard as the ones you face now on a daily basis. I wish you the best and pray for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery~! I am really looking forward to hearing how you are doing.. Remember that there will be MANY people thinking about you Monday and wishing you all the best~
