I had my first 4 injections. The nurse did the first one and I did the other 3. I do 2 more in 2 weeks and then 1 every other week after. I know I've read statistics that say Remicade and Humira are both about
50% successful, but the nurse said in her personal experience, they are successful more often than not. I hope this works for me!
Also, I was told they were painful. They were no big deal at all! No soreness after either and I'm not tired or anything.

I hope it works for you. That sucks you have the surgery to not be on that stuff and you have to be on it. How sad. I wish you the best of luck. I see you are young to with young kids.

Good luck Pam. I have been following your story. The remicade got me into a remission but I had a terrible reaction to it so now I'm in limbo land. Sucks having surgery to get off drugs and then have to go back on them.

It does suck. I thought I would be "cured" so it is rather disappointing. I am not looking forward to a life of medications/dealing with insurance. But it is what it is.
My son is almost 15 months old and I have been sick his whole life and in the hospital and missed him a lot. I am ready to be done with that and there for him all the time.
Susan, I have noticed that we have a lot in common. How are you feeling this week?

Pam, I pray that Humira works for you as it does for me. I have had no side effects at all. My UC/Crohns is not completely under control but I have a "normal" life. Humira is all that I am on. I only took predisone when first dx and it didn't do any good. I tapered off and began Humira a few months later. Best of luck to you.

I hope it works for you too. Remicade double strenght did nothing for me. I started Humira in February. It did nothing so I just started on taking the injections weekly. I am hoping they kick in soon. I have heard it could take months.

Pam, good luck! I really am sorry you are having to go back on meds after everything you have gone through. It just doesn't seem fair.
In the almost 2 years I was on Humira, I didn't have any side effects, aside from the injection site being sore for a couple of minutes after the injections. Otherwise, it didn't cause me any issues, and it worked very well for me. I hope the same is true for you. You deserve to get your life back.

Thank you!
I can just wait and hope now. I'm just really glad the pain was so minimal and I had no reactions. 2 of the spots bruised but that's all. I was anticipating pain like the Sandostatin injections and it was nowhere near as bad. Not any worse than Lovenox or Heparin
