Tiny blisters on my legs

For a couple of weeks now, I have been getting these small blisters on my legs and I have NO idea what they are from.  Do any of you ever get blisters for no apparent reason and if so, do you know what causes them?

I had those the last year or so with UC. I had a dermatologist look at them and her opinion was that it was a side effect of one of the 22+ pills I was taking for UC. I never did find out which drug caused it but I suspect it was 6MP. They did go away when I stopped taking all medication.

I'm suspecting the 6mp too because I've been getting a lot of weird skin problems since I started but the blisters are new. Right now I have about 10. They don't really hurt unless I accidently scratch them, then they open to the air which stings.

Skin issues are a common extraintestinal manifestion from having IBD, especially when the colon is involved (UC, crohn's colitis)...I have them too, sometimes they itch and when I scratch they "burst" and have never completely healed yet on one leg (actually on my ankle), used to be on both as well as a couple of spots on my hands...the hands have cleared up too, just one ankle still with issues...I don't know how or what got rid of them on my hands and my left ankle, just wish my right one would clear up too.

Best to get them looked at to make sure there's nothing else going on or that it's nothing that can be spread.

Easy to assume it's the meds...and if that's the case, at least you'll know.

I have a docs appt in a couple weeks to have a couple moles removed so if I still have them, I will tell her and see what she says.

As well, get her to do a culture test to make sure....careful to not scratch so that you don't get a secondary infection.

Just how "tiny" are they? I had a bunch of tiny little bumps that were fluid filled all over my hands a couple weeks ago, and I thought maybe it was an allergic reaction to something, but my family dr. said that it might be eczema that had been suppressed due to my being on Pred, and since I had just quit taking it, it flared up. I've been getting these things on my hands for years, usually only a couple at a time, but there was one other time that it was really bad. If they are related to my UC, maybe I've had it even longer than I thought, and the stress of my first job last summer was what brought on my frst flare...I don't need anymore problems at the moment... :(

Yeah, I read the papers she gave me, and they said stuff about the skin being dry and scaly, which obviously didn't fit my case at all, as my hands were neither.

That was about how big mine were. and they did itch a little. I'm actually going to go back to where the thing is that I think triggered it, and see if it happens again.

While outdoors did you pass by any poisonous plants, like ivy, oak, or sumac? Chemically sensitive people can react to the sap of these plants if it gets on their clothing. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Where I live we only have poison ivy and I have none where I live right now which is in the city. These blisters actually started slowly, I started with one on my right thigh that kept coming back (off and on for a month - a small blister) but then boom! They started spreading in various spots on my legs.

I have heard of this associated with Crhons but not UC. I would get it checked out and I agree about not scratching - staph infections usually start as blisters and if you have that you sure don't want to spread it around.

Both CD and UC can cause skin issues (extraintestinal manifestations) with crohn's these skin issues are more common when CD is affecting the colon (crohn's colitis) so it's even more common with UCers since many CDers don't have colon involvement.

I have eczema on my hands and feet. The blisters start out so small you can hardly see them. During a flare I get 1/2 in patches of them on the tips of my fingers and a 2 in patch on my right foot. Sometimes they'll become cracked and bleed a little. I tried all the prescription strength steroid creams and they didn't do much. I tried Gold Bonds ultimate healing cream. It has been a god send. I use it three or four times day during a bad episode. I also have a few triggers: washing detergents and certain plants. It is irritating but not such big deal once you can keep them moisturized.

Yup, they're drying up, healing and oddly none have shown back up.
