Remicade Finally!

Just a quick update, I finally had my first Remicade infusion yesterday! So, hopefully it will do some good and I'll finally be able to taper off pred! Yay! :o)

Great to hear your insurance went through. Mine did too thankfully and I had my first infusion 2 weeks ago, getting ready for my second on Monday. Can't tell if it did any good since I'm still on my prednisone taper--down to 15mg now, but at least no bad reactions.
So let's keep our fingers crossed we can get off the prednisone. Keep us updated.

I recently had my second infusion of Remicade, and I'm feeling great! I feel really tired, kinda yucky for about a day and a half after the infusions, but then I feel great. I've been able to quickly taper off the Prednisone. Hope it continues to work. Thank God for good insurance. I know some people don't have that luxury, because this medicine/infusion is really expensive. Good Luck to you!

Diagnosed November 2007 with Pancolitis
had four flares since then...hospitalized twice with dehydration/rapid weight loss
Currently on 20mg Pred., tapering weekly
Had second Remicade infusion on 7/7/2010
Currently taking Colazal for maintenance
