I think what you describe is common. When I am flaring badly, I have MULTIPLE trips to the bathroom before being able to get out of the house. It could be 5 trips or 10 trips but usually after all the unloading, I am okay for a little while so long as I don't eat anything. Once I start eating, unpredictable dumping can start happening.
If I were you I would probably want to get my colon looked at so I know where the inflammation is (if you haven't in a while) and figure out the best way to treat it. The skinny stools are another sign of inflammation. It may be as simple as adding a steroid enema or cort foam, it might be very difficult to treat. I haven't had much luck treating my UC with oral 5ASAs these days and the cortfoam seemed to make things worse. I've just been using 6mp, Canasa and tapering prednisone. Finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel but I always think that and it never works out. This time I am going SLOW. Prednisone might be your friend if you're really spending 2 hours in the bathroom in the morning. Do you ever wake up in the night to go? When I was at my worst I would spend half the night on the toilet.
