Well, after tapering down just from 40mg Prednisone to 35mg after a few days my symptoms have returned again. Bloody D, pain while going, extreme urgency.....Now im not positive if it is just the 5 mg taper or if its been nearing the 6 weeks since my last remicade infusion (only have had two so far) but all I know is I don't like this. Also I just went up to 150mg imuran last night with no ill effects, as of yet. I hope I continue to have no issues with my imuran because I really want it to work, duh :) Anyway just felt like sharing my little storey, feel free to respond if you can shed any light, take care all.

I've been on prednisone for a month and my symptoms haven't improved, especially the bleeding... I'm having a particularly bad day today so I just wanted to share my pain with you all. Tomorrow I have a routine checkup with my GI, hopefully he'll be willing to try something new; I'm sick of these symptoms...

Goodluck with all your symptoms. We're all in the same boat together here. Let us know how your follow up with your GI goes, hopefully he can get you feeling a little better, and sometimes a little, is enough. Take care.

Hey Cavalier9:
I hear ya. I started on 30 mg of pred, tapered down to 25 after a week and the little improvement I saw went right out the window. My doc put me back up to 30 for 3 weeks, and then wants me to taper to 27mg for 3 weeks, then 25 and so on. I'm back to seeing the improvements. Now I'm a little freaked out about
tapering, but since it'll be so slight, hopefully (prayerfully) I'll continue seeing the results. I'd suggest you give your doc a call about
it.
MoJenk: surgery?? as in removing part of your colon and living with a pouch??? I'd rather try every single med combination, 10 times, than go for surgery. All the ideas for diet, vitamin, supplement and med combinations on this forum have been a real revelation to me. There is so much to try and do before resorting to surgery...
