I often wake up with nausea - early as 4 a.m. Eating helps strangely enough. The specialist I saw in Albany said it is a common complaint of those of us with IBS and UC. Better when I don't eat before bedtime. All three doctors I have been to told me to take pepto bismal - so that is my medication of choice. Taking Prilosec before bedtime helps my GERD but not nausea early mornings. I usually have sweating along with it. Some doctors have suggested thyroid or menopause (even though I am 70) but all were negative!
