I didn't get his thoughts on the antibiotics. Acne can be a very serious condition in itself, but I have to put things into perspective at this point. Doctors are sometimes reluctant to say too much because there is so much liability in misdiagnosis. I don't blame them one bit! Where can I buy probotics, what kind and how much do I take daily? Also, how much do they cost?
Yes. Dermatologists are always pushing antibiotics even now that my acne isn't nearly as bad as when I was younger and that I make sure to tell them I have UC and antibiotics will trigger a flare.
Yes. Acne can be a very serious condition in itself. However, please note that you might be making a choice between your skin and your colon. Plus, the more antibiotics you take, the more prone you may become to infections in general. I know. It's happened to me. I do have to say that if I probably had to do it all over again, I would have probably took the antibiotics. However, today there is much more information. In the end, I eliminated cheese and bread from my diet and those horrible skin inflammations that I had, that antibiotics could not kill, went away on their own. If I had only known about
alternative treatments when i was younger. Perhaps, I would not have IBD.
Please note: wash all items of clothing, pillow cases, and towels that come in contact with your acne every day. Wash them in the washing machine in very hot water, or better yet, boil them. The bacteria goes onto cloth and then back onto your skin. Also keep your skin dry and cool. Bacteria love hot moist areas.
