Thanks for the post!
No problem at all. I forgot to say that even tho its frustrating and you dont always seem to keep them in long enough, the rectal meds will be working a little bit, thats what I thought. No bleeding is bliss sometimes! lol. Seems like a bit of progress. When I stopped bleeding, I thought I was good to go without meds, and my dr's said I could stop taking them (thats what I was talking about
them being inept). Turns out I had simmering inflammation that would flare-up big time now and again. That went on and off, like I said, five years. Right now, Im at a place where I was when I was first diagnosed and coming off the meds. Im healing, Im not in as much pain, no bleeding. I have struggled with a LOT of abdominal
pain and discomfort. Oh yeah, exhaustion is something I REALLY struggled with. If I stopped my meds and went back to my old diet, Id be on the vicious cycle again. So, please, dont stop taking your meds. Dont give up on them. At the hospital Im with now they have a nurse specialist for UC and I can ring her any time I need to. Ill ring up and discuss medication options and she'll ring in a script
for me if I wanna try something new. The only thing she's done in the past is say she didnt think I needed rectal meds, which I DO! The last gi I saw finally gave me some. If you need to insist on trying something do so! They dont know your body, you do. I can tell whats going on in my gut, Im sure you'll notice you'll be able to as well.
God bless! Hope that helps!
