Just thought id drop a line and say that everything is well after my surgery, cant believe its finally done.
Its been just over 2 days now and am walking and moving around well,i was even walking around yesterday as was told it will fasten up the healing process but it was rather laboured,i must say that the nurses have been fantastic.
The surgery itself was keyhole so that has added to the swift recovery process,it would of been alot slower if i had to of been cut open so im quite thankful of that.
The surgery itself is quite graphic so i wont go into details of how they pull it out etc especially for those of you who are considering surgery, i dont want to put you off,my surgeon was great,i wanted to know and he told me! Its something to tell my friends down the pub.
The pain relieve is in epedural form and its real good, they have just reduced it so i hope i still feel relatively pain free, with it they have some other pain relief which makes you feel kind of relaxed so excuses if this doesnt make sense as i feel i soooooooo chilled out.
As for my stoma, its a good one,his name is barry or big bad bar(no offence to anyone called barry) and hes alive and working. He gets some getting used to and it has been and will be a challenge getting used to him but im ready for the journey.
Surgery is a very big thing and i can honestly see why people dont want it, but seriously the bag is NOT as daunting as i thought.
I know there is a few people on here who have had surgery and who have gave me some real good advice ,i myself will like to offer mine.
