white stuff on stool

I have had mucus like that, undigested food, and even half digested pills...take a pick.

Really,dakotagirl? You get more mucous (even bloody stuff) when you're healing from a flare? I've been thinking my flare was back in full force...

As I'm healing, I find that I see much more mucous - it seems to be the injured lining sluffing out of my colon. It weirded me out to begin with - but once I touched it and found it to be the mucous, I was okay.

I knew the flare was going away because the pain wasn't so bad and the bms weren't as frequent. It's a fine line!

I don't know if it is necessarily the canasa. I'm not on Canasa or anything for that matter and I get the same Thick White Discharge. I assume it is just mucus that has clumped together.

Since this subject came up of "stuff on stool" from the Canasa, Ive been wanting to pose the question about my experience with it. Yes, if I have a BM to soon after it's "melted", then I get white. But if Ive been able to keep it in the whole night and perhaps have a BM that next afternoon, the first thing out is a big black blob of mucus=y stuff. Its been that way for years, and I've always just thought it was the Canasa oxidizing or soaking up blood..sorry to be so graphic. But really curious as to whether any one else has that same color experience with Canasa as I do.

I had it for the first time today..and it was the day after doing an enema..i thought it was the meds

Makes sense. I guess it seems like it is always black since I usually only use them when Im bleeding.

When does everyone usually use them? I do one at night, but have thought about doing one in the morning since Im in a bad flare. I guess they are maybe not like the enemas where its best to lay down after doing it..?

When I have seen white stuff on my stool, it has been either mucous or canasa.  The mucous looks like little blobs of well, mucous, or snot, or something kinda stringy and slimy.  (Yes, I love that I can talk about this stuff here too!).  The canasa looked more like little round white blobs of oil, or something oily, looked very different from the mucous. 

What about other color mucous?  Sometimes I see white or whitish/clearish, sometimes it's kinda brownish looking mucous, sometimes it's mixed whitish and brownish. What would cause the different colors?  Anyone have any thoughts on this?

hi! mucous is naturally in our digestive systems, but is not supposed to be in such a large quantity that it is visible (of course we examine everything, so things that are not normally visible are to us). Mucous is clear when thin or white when thick. Clear mucous is better healing-wise than thick white. Foods that you eat tint the color. For example, one time I was eating lots of mangoes, and thought i was healed because there was no white mucous - silly me, everything had been tinted orange. haha.

anyway i have noticed for me at least that it takes a very long time for the mucous to go away, and it has to do with what i eat but ALSO definitely has to do with the consistency of stool - harder stools scrape you and you produce more mucous. I drink lots of water and eat lots of fruit and keep things soft, and haven't seen any in a while. Don't measure your progress on a day to day basis, but month to month. healing takes so long! SCD diet is the way to go.

Also - zucchini- have you found out about nutritional yeast because i love it and i am so afraid to discover its bad. I read on one site it is a probiotic but i dont know.

Yes, I have seen that a couple of times but only smaller size ones. about 1 inch long with some mucous in it, very little blood and it just floats. Ick.

I have another question. I have been using the enemas the past 5 days with a one day break which was on halloween. I'm not flaring like I'm familiar with (that's good) but should I continue using it anyway? Or only use when I see a bit of blood?

Also, the enema seems to be affecting my urinary system? Does that happen to anyone else?
It's not bad right now but I get a little pain now and then. (like a few pains when you get your menstrual period). I notice the pain when I get overtired. and you can sure feel the cool liquid when when the stuff goes through. Yeah, I started doing this and getting tired of sticking that up my bum too!

Also I've been having a strange feeling on my left side like something in there but only at the end of the evening, not too much pain with it though. Sort of feels like a blob when I'm walking. I did try feeling for it with my fingers. Or maybe just the UC making my belly feel like that?

Ive been looking up google to see if it can tell me whats wrong with me before seeing a doctor again and this thread popped up and hoping you guys can help me out

I've just turn 20 in the end of november and for the past two week my stool has been changing color to green dark brown light brown to diarrhea to hard. but the one thing that makes me worry is that ive notice alot that when my stool is brown i would see white liquid coming out of the stool. its always the first stool that comes out and sometimes the second or third

Ive seen a doctor 4 days ago for chest pains, lower right side pains near the hip and always experiencing upper middle back pains on my left side these pains are on and off... the doctor got me to do a urine test and everything was negative. but i failed to mention what my stool color due to worring about the pain issues.

Can anyone explain to me if this is normal or if im lacking something that i might not be eatting? im not sure if i should see my doctor about this matter. i dont take any pills, smoke or drugs of any kind. Not much of a drinker either...

Sounds like mucous, it is very common for me in a flare and takes a while for it to stop once you are under control. I even tend to get it when I am weak and have refined sugar products.
