I was feeling a bit nauseous earlier myself but then it worked out that I had to go to the bathroom! So, think about something else, or look at some family photos or give your loved ones a phone call to say hello and that may take your mind off of things for a bit. I think just hearing their voices will help relax you, it does for me anyway. And I try hard to not bombard them with my boring whining and complaining, I ask how their day is going.
As for the drink we have to take, just keep in mind, that this is only for a little while, enough to get through to the next part of going through what has to happen later! So, one step at a time!
When I had to drink it, I would say to myself, down the hatch! And let's get the party going! and then wait...by distracting myself! a little goofy but it worked for me
