Dr wants to start me on Colazal

  I agreed to let the Dr try one more medication before a surgery consult so he called in Colazal. I am not optimistic since Lialda did not help Rowasa did not help and now cortenema's are no longer working. So has anyone had this drug work when all else fails?

I know that Ash'smom posted last week saying Colazal was the answer to her prayers! So maybe it will do better for you than some of the other meds.
There have been a number of people on Colazal who have done well, long-term. Keep us posted!

Colazal usually isn't a last resort drug. It's similar to asacol, lialda etc. I was on asacol from the time I was diagnosed until Oct 2008 when my GI thought I would benefit more from colazal in remission.

 Yeah I know there are more drugs out there but I do not want to take them. Just reading the warnings about liver problems, deadly infections and cancer gives me cold chills.  My doctor hates steroids and after he told me all the side effects I can see why.  It is a whole lot easier to live without a colon then waiting on a transplant list or fighting cancer due to a drug I took trying to save my colon.
