I used to be terrified of public speaking so much so that it affected my heart.
about
20 years ago, I had to give the English securities word of the day at the office to the Chinese securities team every couple of weeks. It was so stupid. Yet I was terrified. I did it three times. My heart would beat very fast, and it would continue to beat very fast (120 beats per minute) after I was done. Each time, I had to go to the emergency room. They would prescribe these little red pills that would slow my heart beat back down to normal. I quit the job after three tries.
Fast forward approximately 15 years. I realized after getting IBD that I needed to reduce my stress. I went to see a shrink, who prescribed Lexapro. I'm now an active member at Toastmasters and loving it.
So I can't say just get on that plane.
If you really want to get over your fear of flying, then seek therapy.
