Well as my name suggest i like working with reptiles. My ultimate dream was always to become a herpetologist which is the studying of reptiles and amphbians. Well venomous snakes have different types of venom one that can affect your blood called hemotoxic venom. Well i have a crazy idea for when i do get my degree working with reptiles. For some reason I believe there might possibly be a cure or something that can help deal with ulcerative colitis. Yes if bitten by a snake that has hemotoxic can possibly affect you badly but think of it maybe you can reverse those effects. Venom from snakes have been used for mutliple things one of which is facial skin cure. Yes it is a crazy idea but this is what im going to study maybe making a cure for Ulcerative colitis or some other disease. Leave comments if you like. Also dont say im stupid ethier as i said it is crazy but not impossible and also i worked with snake for 10 years and venomous for a half of year. Please leave comments if you like.

We don't allow name calling here so no one is going to call you stupid :) I believe that many remedies can be found in nature so why not snake venom. Afterall they use bees stings to help certain individuals or even parasites such as hookworm, leeches etc. I think if it's done correctly and safely that using snake venom can have possibilities.

Small amount of poison are what a some drugs are made of, your thinking is basically in line with this.
Think of chemo-therapy, basically a high level of poisoning to your entire body in an attempt to kill cancer. There isn't anything crazy about your approach.

I do know several people suffering from ankylosing spondilitys that treat themselves with bee venom. They say that it's at least the same as with biologics.

I remind you that some medical studies find UC&Cron's verry simmilar with AS as auto-immune diseases.

Anyway, bee venom can trigger anafilactic shock, also verry risky allergy effects.

I'd like to see a bit more mechanistic reasoning before I get bitten by a snake lol. I agree that there probably is something out there, akin to a magic bullet, but I believe it is likely bacterial in origin and evidence certainly points to that. Good luck, but don't put yourself in harms way, when you consider the trillions of possible substances that are in nature.

So I reckon that when I'm bitten by a snake, my ulcerative colitis will turn into ulcerative reptilitis? Summing up "I'm with you in Rockland" smile
