The rehabilitation center's doctor says that entocort doesn't replace the same kind of steroid that prednisone has so even with adding the 9 mg of entocort, dropping from 35 mg to 20 mg is too much of a drop and cause withdrawl symptoms. His gastro doc aparently doesn't feel this way since it is what he prescibed. Now the rehab center's doc talked to one of the other doctors at my Dad's gastro office and he agrees with her so we have two different orders from two docs in the gastro group.
My Dad's flare is still moderatly active with about 4 to 8 runny stools with no blood.
They are treating his myopthy with physical therapy on his arm and leg muscles, giving him a protein suppliment and tapering him off he prednisone and switching him to entocort.

From what i can gather that if your dad drops to 20mg prednisone and then 9mg entocort that will give him a total of about 29mg steroids which is only 5mg less than the 35mg prednisone. So they have only reduced the steroids by 6mg which is good to reduce by small amounts. Also if they decided to give him 35mg prednisone and 9 mg entecorte that is high but i have been on a higher dose of prednisone and enemas than that so the question i would be asking is
What is to high a dose?
Also how bad is your dads flare?
What treatment do they give him for his myopathy.
